Answered by The Connected RiderWipe the silver with a soft, dry cloth after each show and polish it lightly when it dulls. Clean and condition the leather with a quality leather conditioner, keeping conditioner off the silver.

Fitting a rope halter
- The nose knots sit just below the cheekbone, not on the soft part of the nose.
- Tie the crown with a proper halter knot and leave a tail so it cannot slip.
- Rope halters do not break, so take them off before turnout or leaving a horse tied unattended.

- The noseband sits about two fingers below the cheekbone, with room for two fingers under it.
