English bridle sizes and fit

Measuring and fit

• Browband: measure your current browband end to end, or across the forehead from behind one ear to behind the other.
• Noseband: around the nose, about two fingers below the cheekbone.
• Fit check: two fingers under the noseband, a fist under the throatlatch, and the bit resting with one or two small wrinkles at the corners of the mouth.
• Reins: 54" is standard. Choose 60" for bigger horses or longer necks.

Saint Forgives bridle fit

1. Crown: over the poll. Measured flat, leather end to leather end.
2. Browband: across the forehead, measured flat end to end.
3. Cheek: from the tip of the buckle to the fold where the bit hangs.
4. Noseband (front): across the nose, buckle to buckle.
5. Noseband (back): under the jaw. The chart shows the buckling range, first hole to last.
6. Throat: buckle to buckle, not counting the extra length for adjustment.

Sizes: Full, Cob, Cob Short (Cob with shorter cheeks) and Arabian (wider browband).
