A good fit

  • The mesh sits off the eyes and lashes.
  • Snug enough that it won't slip, with room for two fingers at the jaw.

Fly veils and ear bonnets

A fly veil, also called an ear net or ear bonnet, covers the ears to keep flies out while you ride. It goes on under the bridle.

FullMost horses

Putting it on

  • Slip the ears into the ear covers.
  • Lay the cap flat over the poll, then put the bridle on over it.
  • Tuck or tie the cords so they sit neatly at the throatlatch.

Sizes vary by brand. Check your show rules for ear bonnets; some noise-reducing styles note FEI approval.

Questions, answered

Which size do I need?

Sizes vary by brand. Check the measurements on each product and the fit guide below, and use Ask a question if you're not sure.

Fly mask or fly veil?

A fly mask is for turnout: mesh covers the eyes, and often the ears and nose. A fly veil, or ear bonnet, is for riding: it covers the ears and goes under the bridle.

Can I return it?

We don't accept returns on horse apparel for health and safety reasons, so please check the size before you order. Questions? Use Ask a question and we'll help.

How fast does it ship?

Order by 11 am CT and it ships within 48 hours. Add an item to your cart and enter your ZIP to see delivery time and cost.
