How do I use a bareback pad?
Answered by The Connected RiderCenter it on the back, tighten the girth snugly and check it again after a few minutes. Bareback pads aren’t made for jumping or hard riding.

- Sit in a chair with your knee bent at 90°, and measure from the back of your knee to the back of your seat.
- Dressage saddles often run a size bigger because of the deeper seat. Endurance saddles with a horn are sized like Western saddles, usually 1"–2" smaller than your English size.

- With you in the saddle, you should fit 2–3 fingers between the pommel and the withers.
- The saddle should sit level, with the deepest part of the seat in the middle, and sit behind the shoulder blade.
- The panels should touch the back evenly, with no bridging or rocking.
