US breeches sizes are close to your waist in inches; European sizes run about 12 higher (US 26 is about EU 38). If you are between sizes, size up for a full seat and check the product page for the brand’s own chart.

How to measure for breeches
- Waist (1): measure around your natural waist, the narrowest part of your torso. US breeches sizes are close to your waist in inches.
- Hips (2): measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat. If your hips fall in a larger size than your waist, choose the larger size.
- Inseam (3): measure from the crotch to the ankle bone. Breeches are meant to sit at or just above the ankle so they fit smoothly under tall boots or half chaps.
- Grip (4): full seats grip from the seat down the inner leg, a favorite for dressage and flatwork. Knee patches grip only at the knee, popular for jumping and hunters.
Size conversions. Many of our brands use European sizes. Most follow this chart, but when a product page lists both sizes, that listing wins.

Am I the first review? Oh how cool! These are very comfortable breeches. Although I just got them so can’t attest to wearability they appear well made and fit perfect. Denim is soft and has a lot of stretch. Really nice, thank you!

Worth the wait! The patten on the seat is little bits and horseshoes, it’s darling. I usually wear a 28 and a 28 fit me perfect. Rise is higher on these if anyone wants confirmation.
